Nan Renner has a wealth of complementary experience in the sciences, arts, and humanities. She received a BA in Art Theory and Practice from Northwestern University. At present, Nan is completing her PhD in cognitive science at the University of California, San Diego. Her thesis research focuses on how children use museum exhibits, and how they learn in moment-‐by-‐moment interactions.
Nan’s professional history includes program facilitation for the Balboa Park Learning Institute, exhibit development for the San Diego Natural History Museum, and graphic design for the San Diego Museum of Art. She served on the founding boards of the San Diego Roots Sustainable Food Project and the San Diego Cooperative Charter School.
